As the UNEB examinations for P.7, S.4, and S.6 approach, Mr. Patrick Ategeka, the Senior Education Officer for Fort Portal City, has encouraged parents to visit their candidate students to ensure everything is in order for them to sit the UNEB exams.
Mr. Ategeka made these remarks yesterday during a dedication ceremony for P.7 pupils at Banyatereza Golden Memorial Nursery and Primary School in Fort Portal City, which included Confirmation and First Communion.
He emphasized the importance of addressing potential issues, such as outstanding school fees, in a timely manner to prevent any disruptions to students sitting for the UNEB. He advised P.7 candidates to make the most of their holiday when time comes by behaving well and assisting their parents, while also urging parents not to assign children tasks beyond their capabilities.
Sr. Rose Kemigisa, the head teacher Banyatereza, expressed gratitude to parents for entrusting the school with their children, reaffirming the readiness of the P.7 candidates for the UNEB exams. She highlighted the importance of parental involvement in their children’s development especially as they grow from stage to stage.
In his address, Bishop Robert Muhiirwa Akiiki praised Sr. Rose Kemigisa and the Mother General Banyatereza for the school’s commitment to academic excellence and the successful outcomes of their students. He called for unity among teachers and encouraged them to continue nurturing students’ talents.
” We are grateful to the Banyatereza school management and the support from Mother General to maintain the high standards of academic excellence and holistic education. Children from here are always admitted to first-class schools due to the firm academic foundation given here. We pray that the school management continues in this line of Education recommended by the catholic church” Noted Bishop Muhiirwa
His Lordship Muhiirwa who wished candidates success, urged them to remain calm, believe in themselves, and avoid distractions, but above all pray the holy rosary, seeking the intercession of the blessed virgin Mary.
He echoed Sr. Rose’s sentiments regarding the need for parents to be actively involved in their children’s lives as they grow.
