Police in Fort Portal East division, is investigating circumstances under which a one Erina Kabasomi 49, was killed and dumped in a nearby bush.
The deceased, has been a wife to a catechist Kigarama catholic church, hailing from Kigarama cell, Kasisi Ward ,Kiko town council Kabarole district.
Police speaks out
According to the Rwenzori West police spokesperson, Vincent Twesige, It was on August 5 2022, at around 9:00pm, when the deceased and the family were having supper, and she got a phone call which she went out to recieve.
As minutes passed and no return, the family led by Lawrence Baguma, the deceased husband were tempted to look for her, and there were no signs of a person talking on phone in the nearby environment.
Police notes that the next morning of August 6, a one suspect Adolf Musabe Karatunga 25, a casual worker to Retired Col. Patrick Mwesige Akiki, a resident of Kigarama cell, Kasisi ward -Kiko Town Council in Kabarole district, rang his boss that he had killed someone.
The Rt. Col Mwesige, informed police officers at Kiko police post, with immediate effect for a follow-up
No sooner had Col. Mwesige informed police of the case, than the husband to the deceased reported the case of a missing person at the main station, where he found the related information.
Crime Scene
Police, visited the crime scene, and found the body dumped in the bush, which was later taken to Fort Portal Regional referral hospital for postmortem.
Two more suspects discovered
Twesige, has confirmed that two more suspects have been arrested on allegations of being in connection with the murder of the deceased.
According to police, cases of murder are on increase Fort Portal and Kabarole district. The increment reportedly
follows moral decay in society, domestic violence among others.
