Worry Looms As Parents Lack School Fees, Schools To Reopen Jan 2022

Covid 19 effects leave parents with no funds to raise school dues in Fort-Portal, Mouriham to support 2000 students with Bursaries

As Schools Prepare to Open in January next year, Many parents in Fort-Portal are
worried of where to get school fees saying that COVID-19 lock-down
greatly affected their businesses.

Birungi Constansio a parent in Kiyombya Bunyangabu District says she
did not yield enough money as expected from her gardens due to
restrictions such as closure of markets, travel bans among others. She therefore
wonders where to get school fees fees for her children.

Businge Wilson of Kyabaranga Kyenjojo District is worried that schools
may increase school fees yet as parents they were also affected by the
Lockdown.

As a result, Mouriham Global Alliance according to Mwesigwa Joseph the
Rwenzori regional Representative has come out to support 2000 students
with bursaries in the best schools across the country. He says as the
organization, they commiserate with the parents who have been affected
by COVID.

During the meeting with Parents at King of Kings College in Fort
Portal Today, Alex Ruhunda the MP Central Division condemned the
increasing defilement, early pregnancies which he says affects the
student’s future. He commended Mouriham organization for supporting
the Vulnerable students to attain basic education.
