The Bishop of Ruwenzori Diocese, Rt. Rev. Reuben Kisembo, has urged the government to utilize taxpayer money more efficiently, saying it’s high time Ugandans see tangible benefits from their contributions.
While delivering his Easter message on Holy Thursday, Bishop Kisembo emphasized the need for leaders to be accountable to the people who entrust them with their hard-earned taxes.
The bishop’s appeal comes amid growing concerns over corruption and mismanagement of public funds. He called on citizens to demand transparency and hold their leaders accountable.
Bishop Kisembo also called for the release of political prisoners in Uganda emphasizing the need for justice and compassion, highlighting the plight of those detained, particularly those arrested during the 2026 elections who remain in custody without trial
In his message, Bishop Kisembo emphasized the importance of ethical leadership, accountability, and the need for leaders to serve with humility and honesty.
He also asked Christians to pray for the countries affected by wars like Iran, Israel among others to get peace
