The Association of Member Episcopal Conference in Eastern Africa AMECEA plenary Mass was officially been celebrated at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa CUEA, bringing together bishops, priests, religious, and the faithful from across the region.
The Mass was yesterday led by His Eminence Michael Cardinal Czerny, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and concelebrated by bishops and priests from AMECEA countries, with Fort Portal Diocese being represented by Bishop Robert K.Muhiirwa Akiiki.
In his homily, Cardinal Czerny urged young people not to let themselves be robbed of hope, saying the Church continues to read the signs of the times and create new ways of drawing people into the Kingdom of God. He called on the faithful to become weavers of hope, especially by walking closely with the youth.
Archbishop Philip Anyolo also addressed young people, telling them they are not just the future of the Church, but God’s presence among us today. He urged them to be guided by the Holy Spirit and to stand as courageous witnesses of the Gospel.
