The Tooro Chief Prince has yesterday received a brand new white Toyota Land Cruiser Prado valued at 180 million shillings, as a token of appreciation for his tireless role in transforming and preserving Tooro culture from the death and burial of the late Omukama Oyo Nyimba, up to the succession plans.
The vehicle was purchased through contributions from Tooro leaders and subjects within and outside the kingdom for Chief Prince Musuuga Charles Kamurasi, head of the Babito clan.
Speaking to the press, Michael Mugisa, a mobilizer under the Musuuga Fund, thanked the people of Tooro for their love, togetherness and commitment to preserving culture. He noted that fundraising continues to establish the Musuuga Foundation to support the Chief Prince’s wellbeing as he ages.
Musuuga grateful for standing by his brother’s word
In his remarks, Emotional Musuuga Charles Kamurasi Kayondo thanked the people of Tooro for their love. He said he has fulfilled the wish of his late brother, Omukama Rukidi III Olimi Kaboyo, who tasked him with protecting and developing the kingdom, and thanked God and the President of Uganda for their continued support to the Tooro Kingdom.
This comes as the Tooro Kingdom prepares to celebrate the coronation of Omukama Edward Nyabongo I as the 14th Omukama of Tooro on 29th September.
