The Kingdom has outlined a full program that includes a tour of all nine counties of Tooro and the appointment of a new Cabinet, The recently crowned King of Tooro, Edward Rukidi Nyabongo the First, will embark on a tour of all nine counties of Tooro Kingdom to understand development initiatives there.
This was revealed by Moses Musinguzi Amooti while speaking to the press days after the coronation ceremony.Musinguzi appreciated the people of Tooro and Uganda at large for their togetherness during the death of King Oyo, his burial, and during the succession ceremonies.
He said that now, after the coronation, the King has plans to appoint a new Prime Minister and Ministers who will then be presented to the Kingdom’s Supreme Council – the Orukurato – before they are sworn in.
Developmental programs
After that,His Majesty will begin visiting counties to embark on development programs.
According to Musinguzi, in Tooro culture and under the Babiito dynasty, the King should have different wives, and in every county there should be a palace where the wives of the Omukama stay.He revealed that the Kingdom plans to build a palace in Kitagwenda County and in other counties .
