Preparations are in high gear for the episcopal ordination and installation of Monsignor Bonaventure Bosco Gubazire as the fifth Bishop of Kabale Diocese who was on July 15, 2026 appointed by Pope Leo XIV.
The ceremony will be held on Saturday at St Ignatius University grounds in Kabale Municipality. Msgr Gubazire succeeds Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira, who retires the same day.
According to the he organizing committee chairperson, Msgr Dr John Vianney Sunday, preparations are nearing completion ahead of Saturday October 3. He said about 20,000 people are expected, with President Museveni as chief guest and that security agencies have inspected the place
About Bishop Gubazire
Bishop-elect Gubazire was born in 1974 in Kitumba, Rushoroza Cathedral Parish, and studied at St Paul’s Seminary Rushoroza. He joined the Missionaries of Africa, the White Fathers, and was ordained a priest in 2003 by Bishop Rubaramira.
He has served in Mozambique, Malawi, the Philippines and Ghana, where he is currently a dean of studies and a member of the Provincial Council of the Ghana-Nigeria Province.
