Bishop of Ruwenzori Diocese, Rt. Rev. Reuben Kisembo, has challenged the new Omukama of Tooro, Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I, to make accountability, unity, youth empowerment, education and environmental conservation central to his reign.
Bishop Kisembo made the remarks today during a church service attended by the King ahead of his coronation at Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal city.
He also urged the King to remain monogamous, noting he had made vows in church.
Kisembo asked the King to separate kingdom property from personal property to avoid disputes.
The call comes as Nyabongo I begins reign after Oyo’s death on August 27.
He asked the King to continue Oyo’s tree-planting campaign and appealed for unity.
