The Rt.Rev.Robert K Muhiirwa Akiiki, has called on Christians to be sources of light within their families, workplaces, and the nation.
While delivering his homily at Virika Cathedral during the Easter Vigil Mass yesterday, Bishop Muhiirwa explained the significance of the Easter candle, noting that it symbolizes the light of Christ shared with all other candles.
He urged believers to draw inspiration from this symbol and strive to spread light in a world he described as increasingly affected by hatred, wars, and family breakdowns.
The Bishop further encouraged Christians to remain faithful to their baptismal vows and to continually bear witness to what the Lord expects of them in their daily lives.
Witnessing Christ
Reflecting on the Gospel of the guards who were filled with fear at the resurrection of Christ, Bishop Muhiirwa reminded the faithful that God calls them to testify to His presence through both words and actions without fear, urging them to seek the grace, especially through the sacraments, to courageously witness Christ.
In the same Mass, Bishop Muhiirwa administered the sacrament of Baptism to over 50 Christians, a tradition that welcomes new members into the Catholic Church, representing rebirth into Christ’s resurrection.
