A large crowd of men in Fort Portal have gathered at Rwengoma Palace for the sacred ritual of Kuhemba Emuli in what is also regarded as the royal trek.
Each man carries a bunch of nine reeds (Amabingo) that they will light escorting the King. In Tooro, the Amabingo work as cultural fireworks, in this context lighting the way for the king.
In the royal trek, Omukama walks with his subjects to the Karuziika Palace where he will be enthroned tomorrow.
