The Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU) have over the weekend hosted a vibrant alumni reunion, bringing together past students from various parts of the country and beyond. The theme of the gathering was ‘Reconnecting the Past, Strengthening the Future,’ emphasizing the importance of staying connected to one’s roots.
The event, held at the UPU main campus in Mucwa Fort Portal City, saw a turnout of alumni, who came to recall about their university days and reconnect with old friends and mentors.

Speaking at the event, the vice Chancellor of the University Pelucy Ntambirweki encouraged attendees to stay true to their UPU roots, highlighting the values and principles instilled in them during their time at the institution.
Ntambirweki has called upon alumni to take charge of their future and emphasized the importance of their engagement in shaping the institution’s agenda.
She appealed to them to contribute towards the completion of the university’s permanent home highlighting the university’s progress and challenges faced.
Speaking as chief guest, Magezi Sam the Chairperson UPU Alumni, called upon his fellow alumni to honor the legacy of the university’s founder, the late Professor John Ntambirweki, emphasizing the importance of staying true to the founder’s vision of transforming lives through education.

He said that Professor Ntambirweki was not just a founder, but a believer in the power of education to change destinies. Magezi urged alumni to recommit to making a positive impact in their communities.
However, the event featured a range of activities, including networking sessions, opportunity to share their experiences and expertise with current students, providing valuable insights and inspiration.
They also had friendly matches with the continuing students where alumni merged winners in both football and netball
