The spokesperson for the coronation of Omukama Edward Rukiidi Nyabongo I, Rev. Fr. Charles Oyo, has described the just-concluded celebrations as highly successful.
Speaking at a press briefing at Karuzika Palace in Fort Portal City, Fr. Oyo said the celebrations showed great unity, with people from across Tooro coming together for one purpose.
He said organisers now look forward to the King’s message on reconciliation, continuity, development and the growth of the Kingdom.
Fr. Oyo commended Chief Prince Charles Kamurasi for standing by his commitments during the preparations, saying his phrase, “Nogamba Nkoha,” could become lasting vocabulary for future generations, before appealing to the people of Tooro to keep supporting the new Omukama and to pass the spirit of unity on to their children and grandchildren.
He urged the Batooro to learn from the past and focus on progress, noting that while conflicts and differing opinions are part of life, the desire for a better Kingdom unites all Tooro.
