A poor road network linking Bitiiti Town Council, Nyabuharwa Sub-county and Mbale Town Council in Mwenge South, Kyenjojo District, is hurting transport and trade. Traders moving maize, coffee, maize flour and timber are struggling to reach markets, and passengers sometimes have to walk to Mukunyu main road to find onward transport.
The Nyabuharwa Sub-county LCIII Chairperson Agus Rwabuhinga, also known as Abwoli Omusaija, says the roads are a major concern for all residents.
He calls on the community to help fill potholes and dig trenches to drain water. He warns that deep ditches endanger lives, especially for motorcycles carrying the sick to health facilities.
He has urged Kyenjojo District Local Government to rehabilitate and construct the affected roads.
We were unable to reach Sub-county Councillor Nathan Musinguzi, the district’s Secretary for Works, as his phone was off.
