Pope Leo XIV has announced the theme for the 2026 World Day of Migrants and Refugees, focusing on minors on the move.
Titled “Even just one of these children,” the theme highlights the Church’s call to welcome and protect every child, in line with the Gospel teaching that welcoming a child is like welcoming Christ.
The 112th edition of the day will be observed on Sunday, 27 September 2026, with a message from the Pope to follow in the coming weeks.
The Vatican emphasizes that the current migration crisis poses serious risks to children’s rights and dignity, and urges urgent, compassionate action for even a single child in need.
