It was joy and thanksgiving yesterday at St Johns Cathedral Kabarole as hundreds of Christians turned up to bid farewell to the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda His Grace Dr. Steven Kaziimba Mugalu who is set for a mandatory retirement in August next year.
Preaching to Christians Dr. Kaziimba advised them to follow Jesus Christ with commitment and dedication saying once Christians get divine encounter with God, he will transform their lives and turn all their sufferings and challenges to happiness.
Quoting Luke 8:1, Archbishop Kaziimba warned Christians against going to witch doctors whenever they are troubled saying Jesus is above all and a solution to all problems.
The Bishop of Ruwenzori Diocese the Rt Rev Reuben Kisembo Amooti highlighted several developments in the diocese saying construction of the Golden Jubilee house will commence next year.
Dr Richard Rwabuhinga the Diocesan Head of Laity commended the archbishop for spearheading several projects such as church house, starting of the Medical Institute in Kampala among others.
Rev. Kintu Muhanga Willy the Mayor Fort Portal tasked the archbishop to help Tooro in advocating for the construction of the industrial park to solve unemployment and fight poverty in the diocese.
