Stakeholders have commended the Ordinary of Kasese Diocese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira, for championing development initiatives in Kitagwenda District, particularly in the education sector.
The remarks were over the weekend made during celebrations to mark the Feast of Saints Anne and Joachim at Buryansungwe Secondary School in Kitagwenda District.
Speaking at the function, Uganda Revenue Authority Commissioner John Tinka Katungwensi praised Bishop Kibira for establishing quality educational institutions that have expanded access to quality education and improved social services in the area.
Kitagwenda county Member of Parliament Robert Mugabe, popularly known as Omutembuzi, also lauded the bishop for complementing government efforts to improve service delivery through investments in education and community development.
Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Acleo Kafero, an old boy of Buryansungwe Secondary School, encouraged students to remain focused on their ambitions, saying determination and hard work can help them succeed regardless of their background.
More than Shs15 million was raised in cash and pledges during a fundraising drive to support the construction of a perimeter fence for Buryansungwe Secondary School.
