Tanzania has brought forward the closing date for schools over fears of heavy El Niño rains.
Pre-primary, primary and secondary schools in Mainland Tanzania will now close on November 13, instead of December 4.
The Ministry of Education says the rains, expected between October and December, could disrupt learning and endanger students and teachers.
Earlier, the ministry also moved some national exams from November to October.
